No Shirt No Tie

- Molweni, here's a few highlights from the week.  -We got new standards from the Area Presidency for all South African missions. We are now not to wear proselytizing clothes (white shirts and ties) in townships. Instead, we are to wear business casual or even street clothes. Also, all missionaries are not allowed to take their smart phones into their proselyting area, but they are to leave their phones in the boardings. We'll be getting some flip phones for when we are in the area for contacting appointments, etc. We also are to park our cars and walk in the townships and not drive. Crazy huh? But it's for good reasons, there has been an increase of missionaries being targeted for phones and car jackings, and potential kidnappings, but I know the Lord walks with us.  -Put Onam, Live, and Zukhanye on date for baptism on the 19th of May. Blessing!  -Went on an exchange with my guy Elder Manganye. He's a 26 yr old from Pretoria, South Africa. He's a beast. It was inte...

Christ Is King!

-This week was hectic, but it was a good one. Tuesday, I flew to Cape Town for exchanges with our AP's. Something I always look forward to. It was powerful, they're some great Elders. It was also super fun, I got to be with Elder Steenbakkers who's one my boys. It was also kinda weird being by myself while in the airport. But it  was a taste of what's to come soon lol. -I flew back from Cape Town Thursday and the cars in the zone had perished. We had 2 cars put in the shop which is now a total of 3 cars in the shop. For one of them the brake pads, discs, and 2 other things relating to the brakes were clapped. It'll be in the shop for the next 6-8 weeks while the parts get ordered. The other is in for some electrical problem. And the 3rd has been in for the last week for an axl related issue. So, my comp and I have been a taxi service for our Elders. 16 of the 20 Elders in the zone don't live in their area because of safety issues. So, driving Elders there and th...

Prayers

-This week was powerful; it was full of tender mercies from the Lord. It's truly amazing to be an answer to someone else's prayers. That's why its so important to listen to those seemingly small promptings. -I don't have much time to write. We had zone conference Tuesday, it's crazy to think I only have one more left. As well, we'll get transfer news this coming week. I'm hoping to stay here in Mdantsane for my last transfer, but where ever the Lord needs me I'll go. -We are praying to put Onam, Zukhanye, Live, and Asange on baptismal date this week. Washington, Borin, and Desire will be having their baptisms April 28th. Which is hopefully the start of all our friends getting baptized.  -Xhosa people really don't like the rain lol. So it's always a struggle when it's raining Sunday to have higher numbers at church. But our friends Rebecca and Sizwe really an example of faith to me. They are our friends who live the farthest away but yet they ...

Easter

-Molweni! The work is going great! Here's just an update.    -Our friends Onam, Zukanye, Live, and Asange are progressing super well. We have had really powerful lessons with them these Last 2 weeks. Live was telling us the difference he felt as he read The Book of Mormon, and said it was something he had never felt before, he then bore his testimony that he believes it's true. It's such a blessing to see the spirit touch people's hearts. Hoping and praying to have them on date soon here.   -Some of our Elders here got their apartment broken into and robbed. Luckily whoever it was only stole one phone and a 2 liter of coke lol. Funny enough, those same Elders and the companionship they share a car with had their car break down in the middle of the village at around 8 o'clock pm. So, we had to go drive about an hour out to where they were stuck. We didn't end up getting the car towed out until around 10pm. It took the emergency assistance a while to get to us. So...
