Another One In The SA
Yo, this week was good I guess some funny things happened. We tracked SO much. We're getting some lessons out of it and new people so it's not fruitless.
-Tuesday, Elder Howard popped his bike tire so we had to walk the rest of the way home. As we were walking, this crazy lady, who loves us, came running out of nowhere yelling at us to wait for her. When she caught up to us she told us how much she missed us and that when she looks at us she sees angels and that she loves listening to us. So that was sweet of her. She is homeless which is sad, but she told us she started staying with her sister in her house, so I was happy for her. She also called us "Little Jesus's" which I thought was pretty funny.
-We had to help a member move on Wednesday, which kind of sucked because they had like nothing packed. So, we had to help them pack and move.
-Saw a homeless lady take a butt naked poop in the middle of town. I turned the corner and she was right there. It was so gross, but ya’ know that's just mission life, I guess.
-Something really awesome happened Thursday. We were out tracking and this young guy just appeared out of nowhere on the street and was like "who are you guys", so we introduced ourselves and when we told him about the Book of Mormon he was super interested. He told us he wants to meet and that he wants to read it. So, we were super excited about that. His name is Noah btw. The next day we taught him the restoration and it was honestly the most powerful restoration lesson I’ve taught so far on my mission. The spirit was super strong. And he was asking the best questions that were actually genuine. He's going home the 23 though, which is sad. But he said he'll read the whole Book of Mormon by the time he gets back. So, I’m really hopeful for Noah. It was definitely a tender mercy from God after a hard day of tracking and not much success He kind of gave us an "atta boy". It feels nice to have someone so interested, especially because recently, it's been hard to find people like that here.
-We had a ward braai, which was really fun we had Borewors and Christmas Pudding so it was a good time. Then we took all the extras to the night shelter. It was cool to see all the people faces when we brought in the food for them.
-Another funny story was tracking we talked to a Drunk lady who told us she can see all dimensions, lol, she was tripping.
-One more thing that happened this week was from Friday to Sunday afternoon we had no power at all. Something happened with our apartments Electricity not even due to loadshedding. It literally broke so we had no power for like 2 days which sucked. It was so hot at night you. But we got the power fixed so I'm grateful to have electricity again truly is a blessing.
A scripture that I really loved reading in Doctrine & Covenants this week was D&C 64: 9-10.
"Wherefore, I say unto you, that ye ought to forgive one another; for he that forgiveth not his brother his trespasses standeth condemned before the Lord; for there remaineth in him the greater sin.
I, the Lord, will forgive whom I will forgive, but of you it is required to forgive all men."
I just think this is a really good reminder that we need to forgive everyone. Even those who intentionally cause harm to us. Sometimes it can be hard but if God can forgive, we can too.
