Electricity For Christmas

Christmas was the first day of being in Africa that we didn't have loadshedding. It was so awesome. Makes me really appreciate having electricity and air conditioning back home. But it was a cool tender mercy.

-Tuesday, we ran out of electricity so we didn't have any all-day which sucked. So hard to sleep without a fan.

-This week was just another week full of tracking.  Which can get old when people don't give you the time of day. But we have been praying for someone to be willing to hear or message. And this oldish couple named Margrett and Averil let us in and we shared the Joseph Smith story and the Book of Mormon. Turns out they know a little bit about the Church. They do work on Family search. It was a great discussion. They invited us back for this upcoming Wednesday so hopefully that goes well.

-Friday, we got invited by one of our friends to play basketball with him and his friends. So, we went and Elder Howard and I crushed them. Ha-ha I’m not good at basketball, like at all, but these guys thought we were goateed … so funny. It was cool and a lot of them asked us questions about the church after we were done playing so it was a good time.

-Christmas Eve, we had a mission devotional which was fun and after we went and got food. Never in my life did I think I would have eaten Burger King for Christmas Eve dinner. But it was a fun time, ha-ha.

-Christmas was a good day, we went over to our Bishops house for lunch. We played with their kids and I helped the little boy named David build some of his Legos.  That was fun. Also, they fed us Ox tongue and I didn't even know until after I had like 3 pieces. But honestly, it was pretty good. We then went over to another members for dinner, which was also fun.  They had a little braai, it was yummy.

I hope you all were able to feel the Saviors love this Christmas. And remembered that it's truly about him.

Merry Christmas love y'all

-Elder Quick
