Stellies Week 18

(Sorry for the delay, I was out of town and could not forward Mas' email.)

All-

This week has been kinda weird.  We had transfers and I got a new companion, his name is Elder Howard.  He's a beast. One of the nicest guys I've ever met. It's nice to have a change after being with the same comp for 3 transfers.

We also moved apartments this week which took basically a whole day.  And our new flat is nicer than our last one but we don't have a gym in this one.  And it's smaller so we have to put our beds in the living room which is kinda weird.

This week has been kinda tough teaching wise.  All the students have gone home for the holidays.  So, our teaching pool kinda got wreaked with that.  The last few days we've just been grinding with tracking and street contacting. Unfortunately, we haven't found too much success yet, but we're still pushing.  We also got called to be the social media specialist for the Cape Town and Belvile zones, which is exciting.  We'll see how that goes through.  Basically, we run the Facebook page.

Some funny things that happened this week were while walking through Kayamandi: the drunk township ladies always cat call us and try to get us to come over with them; and we lost the keys to our apartment.  I have absolutely no idea where they are lol.  So hopefully we don’t get to much fire from the mission President.

This week was kinda rough but a scripture that I love is Alma 26:27.

"Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about to turn back, behold, the Lord comforted us, and said: Go amongst thy brethren, the Lamanites, and bear with patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto you success."

Probably my favorite scripture on my mission.  Just because we're all going to have hard times.  And especially on a mission it's going to be hard.  But if we put our trust in God and we have that patience to get through the hard times, God will give us success. He will bless us because he knows we trusted him and had faith in him even in the most difficult of times.  This scripture just gives me a lot of comfort and helps me to just keep pushing.
