Home Invasion
Yo this week was wacked. We got robbed Friday night. Our apartment was broken into during the night. They came in through the window in the living room. They broke the burglar bars off of the window, climbed in, took our keys and opened the front door and took both of our bikes, my airpods, and the complex’s gate clicker. They also took our car key, but we found the car key outside the next day 15 feet away from the window. The creepy part of this was my companion and I were just dead asleep 10 feet away while this was all happening. You can see my bed and me from the window where they broke into and climbed through to get in the apartment. I'm just thankful they didn't harm my comp and I, because if they wanted to, they totally could have as we were both fast asleep, lol. Truly it is a blessing we were protected.
The most interesting part of all of this was that that same night before I went to bed, I was sitting at the table reading a book until late and I was totally just focused on the book, but I got the strongest prompting that we were going to be robbed that night. Out of nowhere a thought cane into my mind "we're going to get robbed tonight". But at first, I just pushed it off as it was just my own thoughts, you know. But I kept getting the same prompting over and over again. So, I checked the front door multiple times making sure it was locked. Then I got ready for bed. I still felt uneasy about everything, but I went to bed anyways. And what do you know, we wake up to find out we did get robbed, lol.
I learned a valuable lesson that night. Which is to never take promptings lightly. To always act on those promptings to the fullest. We need to listen to them because they are truly from God. They come in many ways to protect us, guide us, and to help us be the answer to others prayers, etc. But I know that I'm not going to brush of any more promptings off or take them lightly anymore. Heavenly Father really does send the Holy Ghost to bear us up, protect us, and guide us through this life. But it's important that we choose to listen and then to act on that guidance.
Other than getting robbed it was a pretty normal week. We had great lessons with our friends. We had a lot of people come to church, so that was powerful. One of our friends Athini even called us during the week and asked us what his Book of Mormon reading assignment was that week. That's amazing, it shows us that he really cares and wants to learn and grow. He's awesome and super elect. We also had Zone Conference Tuesday which was fun. It's always nice to see other Elders.
Oh, another funny thing that happened was we were walking to a lesson and these dogs were barking at us. And before you know it, they bust through the fence and start coming at us. So, we were swinging our shoulder bags at them and acting like we were going to throw rocks at them. Idk what we did that made them so mad, hahaha.
Other than that, nothing much happened, lol.
Love ya'll
