My Son From Madagascar

-So, this week brought some big changes. I got a new comp from Madagascar. I’m training him. He doesn't speak much English. So, I’m also teaching him English. The coming weeks are going to be interesting. His name is Elder Rakotomamonjy. I just call him Elder Rako though. He doesn't talk much, but I think it’s mainly the language barrier because when he talked to his family this morning he was practically yelling, lol. But hopefully I can get him adjusted to mission life. And also, where he can be confident in teaching and speaking English. He just does interesting things like taking baths every night and eating noodles for every meal, lol. But I have faith that the Lord will bless us and help him learn the language. The gift of tongues is real.

- Easter was good. It's cool to be able to teach others of Christ on such an important day. It truly helps you understand and appreciate the true meaning of the holiday. Because here, there isn’t much celebration.

-Also, our recent converts Naye and Amyoli got confirmed this week, which was awesome. It was a special day for them. We also started teaching their friend Owethu who wants to be baptized as well. So, we are praying for him.

- Something I’ve been trying to work on is being like a child. It's hard not to notice the Christ like love the children have here in Illinge, when they all run up to us and want to talk and play with us. They have so much joy and love for others. And are so willing to learn and grow in the gospel. Which is something I want to work on more is having that love and that faith that children naturally have for the Lord. They really are that example in spirit to me. They are an example of the charity we need to have. An example of a submissive attitude towards God and allowing Him to teach them so they can learn and grow. And a huge example of Christ-like forgiveness. They are so quick to forgive each other. And it's so amazing to see. These children in Illinge, and all children in general, are amazing examples of so many Christ-like attributes. So, I invite you guys to try to be like a child in spirit. Easy to love, easy to forgive, and full of faith.

Love ya’ll

-Elder Quick
