Paint Ball In The Bush

Yo, this week was pretty good.  For pday we went and played paint ball with our zone in the bush. Which was super fun. Snipping other elders in face, hahaha, so fun.

All the youth in Illinge think I'm between 25-30 years old. They were shocked when they found out I’m 19, so funny though.  Training is going alright. It's tough sometimes just because he's not as confident in speaking English yet. But I have faith he'll get there. I have to teach him how to ride a bike too; so, that'll be interesting. Basically, I’m like his actual dad, that's the best way to describe it, lol.  Also, we spent basically a whole day painting our apartment with the senior couples. And when I was talking with the senior couple, Elder Rakotomamonjy started painting a wall he wasn't supposed to, so we had to paint a whole extra wall. I was just like bruh!

We put our friends Zive and Sima on date for May 21st, that was awesome, they have a powerful desire to be baptized.

I was listening to the talk "Beware of pride" by President Benson. It was really good. One of my favorite quotes from the talk is

"Pride is a very misunderstood sin, and many are sinning in ignorance. In the scriptures there is no such thing as righteous pride—it is always considered a sin. Therefore, no matter how the world uses the term, we must understand how God uses the term so we can understand the language of holy writ and profit thereby."

"Most of us think of pride as self-centeredness, conceit, boastfulness, arrogance, or haughtiness. All of these are elements of the sin, but the heart, or core, is still missing.

The central feature of pride is enmity—enmity toward God and enmity toward our fellowmen. Enmity means “hatred toward, hostility to, or a state of opposition.” It is the power by which Satan wishes to reign over us.

Pride is essentially competitive in nature. We pit our will against God’s. When we direct our pride toward God, it is in the spirit of “my will and not thine be done.” As Paul said, they “seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s.”

-This talk is super insightful and eye-opening. Helps me understand what pride really means. And I invite ya’all to read it.

Love ya’all
