Rainin' In Africa

-This week was kinda basic. We had zone conference which is always fun. Getting to see other missionaries. It was a great Zone conference we talked a lot about repentance and becoming a life-log disciple of Jesus Christ. And how you can't be one without constant repentance.

-This guy name Raja from Pakistan found us. He just texted us out of nowhere. But he moved to South Africa a year ago and wants to learn about the church. He's very interested but because he is Muslim, we have to get approval from President to start teaching him.

-Our friend Lihle was supposed to be baptized Sunday, but because it was so cold it got postponed to the 28th of May. The font is outside and it is filled using rain water. And the last few days it’s been like 45-50 degrees and raining, so she would have died, ha-ha. Africans hate the cold! Church attendance is always so much lower when it's cold. But, I’m excited for Lihle she had no problem moving it. The bishop is super excited for her to be baptized; she is really going to be a strong member. She told us she wants to serve a mission as well. She’s like 19 or 20.  And she's in Enos in the Book of Mormon which is so powerful.

-We started cleaning out the font this week. We have to do it by hand. Meaning getting buckets and scooping the water out that way. Lol, it takes forever. Also, we had to bike in the rain a lot this week. Which I’m fine with as I’m just over it and I don’t care about getting wet anymore. But my comp Elder Rakotomamonjy hated it, ha-ha. He’s not use to the cold, so he’s freezing right now. The cold made him bike even slower too, lol.  We got transfer news as well. I’m staying here for another transfer with Elder Rakotomamonjy again.

-Been reading a lot in the Book of Mormon. And a verse I love from this past week was.

1 Nephi 21: 13-16

"13 Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; for the feet of those who are in the east shall be established; and break forth into singing, O mountains; for they shall be smitten no more; for the Lord hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.

14 But, behold, Zion hath said: The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me—but he will show that he hath not.

15 For can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee, O house of Israel.

16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me."

I love this. It's a great reminder that the Lord will never forget us. He has "graven thee upon the palms of my hands." He will never leave us to our own strength as long as we seek Him. Just as a mother will never forget her child.
