Sima And Zive's Baptism
Molo buhtis
-This week was pretty good. Sima amd Zive Mkhangelwa were baptized this week in the Queenstown 1st ward. They were super excited. Everything went well. Their family even came to watch and supported them, which was powerful. We were hoping they would come. Also, in Illinge we had the confirmations of Ntombentsha, Owethu, and Siphesonke. That was super special. The Lord really has been blessing these people. Just grateful to be a small part of it all.
-We had zone conference this week. The last one with President Van Reenen before he heads home. The night before the zone conference we got a call from the Zone leaders, they told us we had to give a training session for suggested lesson plans. So that night we hurried and figured it out. It was supposed to be only 15 minutes, but somehow talked for 50 minutes, lol. I didn't get in trouble like I thought I might, so it must have been ok, lol. It was a great ZC though.
-It was super windy in Queenstown this week. While we were biking in town the wind blew a metal roof off a shop and it crushed a car in the street. So, it was a little too windy, lol. We tried biking over the bridge, but we got about halfway up and the wind was blowing so hard we could barely bike. So, we had to walk the rest of the way because my companion gave up biking, lol.
-Also, my companion had another tantrum over the phone usage this morning. It's so annoying. I’m done with him being like that. Lucky for us we got transfer news and we're staying together for another transfer, lol. Yeah, so there will be a lot of praying for patience, lol.
-One day we accidentally stayed too late at a member’s home, so he had to walk us home because it’s just way too dangerous for us to be in that area at night without him. So, he didn't feel comfortable letting us walk alone. As we walked, he was telling us how to spot the criminal guys who mug people. He was explaining to us all about this certain walk they have and a way they swing their arms. He told us they usually only go after those who don’t walk confidently. So now we know, ha-ha. It's helpful to know that stuff though.
-Something interesting President Van Reenen told us at Zone conference was: "Those who try to steal your faith away, faith robbers, can never replace it with anything better. They will leave you with a void. Feeling empty." Which is so true. There's nothing more precious than the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Nothing that those who try to replace their faith with ever gives us lasting happiness. They try to replace things eternal with things temporal. The only way to receive eternal happiness is through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The adversary is so enticing to those who don’t take charge of their own testimony. Little by little, he breaks them down with small temptations and doubts until eventually it leads to them abandoning their faith. That's why it's so important to nurture your own testimony. If you don’t attempt to strengthen your relationship with our Father in Heaven it's not going to grow. It's like not working out, and then expecting your body to get stronger. It just doesn't work that way. God loves effort. So, I invite y'all if you haven't already to seek to improve your testimony and relationship with Heavenly Father. Show God you want to be closer to Him. Don't fall into the trap of faith robbers who only want you to be as miserable as them. In the name of Jesus Christ amen.
