Week Idk, Lol
Yo, this week was fast. I only have 2 weeks left in this transfer. Then President Van Reenen goes home and President Stringham comes in as president of the mission. I’m excited for a change, hopefully President Stringham will let us use weights, lol.
- I'll keep it short. What happened this week: I had the opportunity to confirm Lihle, which was a great experience. We did the baptismal interviews for both Owethu and Siphesonke, and they both passed. They'll be baptized on the 11th. Also, something tragic happened. Another Elder in our district had to get surgery on his private area, lol. It was actually terrible, he just woke up in a crazy amount of pain. So much that he threw up on the way to the ER. He is chilling now, but he walks like a penguin now, just waddling around, lol. Also, Elder Fagg in our district has had crazy tooth pain. He said his wisdom teeth are starting to push up and half his face is swollen. But he got some medication that's helping. Honestly, he just needs to get surgery on them.
Oh, the funniest part of the week happened while we were walking back to the chapel in Illinge with our friend Isange. As we walked past this group of young women, I just said "Molo unjani" which means "Hi how are you" in Xhosa. I say that to literally everyone. But these girls were trippin man, and they all started talking all sus. And Isange, our member friend, was just laughing super hard. It turned out that they wanted my phone number, but let's just say not for missionary work. It was mad awkward. ha-ha-ha.
-A scripture that I really like is 2 Nephi 15:20
"Wo unto them that call evil good, and good evil, that put darkness for light, and light for darkness, that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"
I think this prophesy from Isaiah is very evident in our day and time. Many make the things of God evil and the things of Satan good. It is a good reminder to always be true to Christ's principles not mankind's.
Love, Elder Quick
