Answered Prayers
Yo, this week flew by. Recently we have been really praying and trying to find good potential Priesthood holders. The last few weeks we haven't had much success. But this week was different, our prayers were finally answered. We found our guy Esona in Queenstown. He's super prepared for the gospel. We had a first lesson with him and he came to church this week, and even attended the face to face with the stake president after church. He absolutely loved it. So, pray for Esona. Also, we had a referral, his name Is Yanga. We met with him outside the church and talked for a bit. He's golden, bro told us he just really wants to come closer to Jesus Christ and wants to repent of his sins. It turns out he lives in another Elders' area in our district. So that was a bummer. But they said when they had their first lesson with Yanga be brought 6 more friends with him. So that was super cool. A good lesson to learn here is that the Lord blesses those who show faith in Him and work diligently. That was probably the highlight of the week.
Elder Rakotomamonjy started driving this week, which has been interesting. Bro keeps driving on the wrong side of the road, ha-ha-ha. He is getting better every day though. We also saw a grown woman going number 2 on the highway out her car, so that was terrible as usual, lol. Also, we had a super funny, I don't even know what to call it, talk I guess, with one of our members who is completely inactive. We were walking home one day, and bro came running up out of nowhere and just starts talking nonsense for 15 straight minutes. He's a drug addict of some kind, which is actually really sad. But he just does the funniest things. I'll put a video down below. I pray thought that somehow he finds a way out of those awful chains he is in.
We have zone conference this next week. I'm excited to meet our mission President and his wife, the Stringhams. Also, I had the best umqusho I've ever had this past Sunday. Idk what the mama put in it that was difficult, but it was amazing. It's the pic of the food.
I've been studying in Mosiah lately. And one of my favorite chapters is Mosiah 4 which talks about serving others. Verse 20 has always stuck out to me in this chapter.
" 20 And behold, even at this time, ye have been calling on his name, and begging for a remission of your sins. And has he suffered that ye have begged in vain? Nay; he has poured out his Spirit upon you, and has caused that your hearts should be filled with joy, and has caused that your mouths should be stopped that ye could not find utterance, so exceedingly great was your joy"
Just a great reminder for us all that we are all beggars before God. And does he hold back His mercy? No, He does not. Therefore, who are we to not show mercy to the beggar? To not give them food, water, etc. The Lord has asked to serve the poor, clothe the naked, and feed the hungry. A lot of the times we're to selfish to do these things. So, I invite you all to forget yourself and serve someone In need this week. I can promise you in the name of Jesus Christ that you'll feel great joy from those acts of service. We truly are only in the service of our God when we serve others.
