New Mission President

- Friday, we had our first Zone Conference with President and Sister Stringham. They're awesome, I love them. Super intelligent and spiritual leaders. And, also, super fun. You can just feel the spirit when speaking with them. Sister Stringham is awesome, it's nice to have a mission mom who's active with us Elders. In my interview with her we talked for like 45 mins or so. She has a really warm personality and makes you feel really comfortable, she's so easy to talk to. She has that loving mom spirit if that makes sense. It's hard to describe, but there are only a few people I've felt that kind of spirit around, it made me miss my mom. The day before Zone Conference we went on a hike along the coast all together which was fun.

- Okuhle and Lathitha were confirmed on Sunday, that was super powerful. We taught some great lessons this week. We've been trying to complete all the recent convert lessons as well as trying to find new friends to teach, especially potential priesthood holders, but our friends are progressing well. Elder Rako fell asleep in a lesson though, which yo, that made me mad. It's just not a good look, our recent convert we were teaching was laughing at him, lol. I talked to him about it (in a nice way) on why that's unacceptable. I think it's obvious but guess not, hahaha. Our recent converts Zive and Sima came back from a month holiday, so it was great to see them again.

- We talked to a member's husband for like 2 hours. Bro just wouldn't stop talking, lol. He's from Uganda. Talked to us about how much he wants to go back to Uganda, it was funny.

- I've been studying in Mosiah the past few weeks. And I've come to really love the prophet Abinadi. I love how boldly he teaches the gospel. He's a great example of teaching with power and authority. I admire the courage he had. He was willing to die for what he knew to be true. Which is the testimony we all should be striving to have.

7 And he said unto him: Abinadi, we have found an accusation against thee, and thou art worthy of death.
8 For thou hast said that God himself should come down among the children of men; and now, for this cause thou shalt be put to death unless thou wilt recall all the words which thou hast spoken evil concerning me and my people.
9 Now Abinadi said unto him: I say unto you, I will not recall the words which I have spoken unto you concerning this people, for they are true; and that ye may know of their surety I have suffered myself that I have fallen into your hands.
10 Yea, and I will suffer even until death, and I will not recall my words, and they shall stand as a testimony against you. And if ye slay me ye will shed innocent blood, and this shall also stand as a testimony against you at the last day."

Abinadi was killed because of he was not willing to take back what he knew to be true. He feared God more than man. We probably won't be killed for our beliefs as was Abinadi. But we need to ask ourselves If we were in a similar situation, would we do the same? I know I could not deny the Book of Mormon, or the Restoration of His church. I've seen the hand of the Lord in my life. And the Holy Ghost has touched my heart to deeply. In Jesus Christ's name, amen.
