Sho sho Busy week, so a quick rundown: -Sinazo was confirmed this week which was awesome. She's super cool. She is a student at Rhodes University here in Makhanda. -Crushed the YSA in Foosball. - My comp loves dogs way too much. Problem is he doesn't listen to me when I tell him most the dogs here will rip your face off If you try to pet them. So, he's probably going to get attacked one of these days. -Have had a ton of success tracking in Makhanda. Blessed. Also, some drunk guy followed us around to some houses. Telling us he wants to be a missionary, lol.  - Had 2 friends: Olivia and Khanye tell us they have a desire to be baptized. That was exciting, now it's just about helping them prepare. -Elder Killpack and I found some foam noodle lightsabers at the chapel. We had a duel of course! -Some thieves stole the battery to our chapel gate and also robbed our neighbors, lol.  -Alma 13:3-5 "3 And this is the manner after which they were ordained—being called and pre...

Trust In His Will

This week was full of a lot of reorganizing. When I got here the area book, our apartment, and area in general were just all over the place. So, we sent most our time meeting friends, recent converts, and cleaning up the area book. It's a lot better now, but still some organizing to do.  Hlalani Villa and Joza location are the townships here in Makhanda.  They're the only townships I've seen built on steep hills. The people there are awesome. The dogs, however, are not as awesome. It's like gang wars between dog packs here, lol. We came out of a lesson back to our car we had like 8 or so dogs fighting under and around our car. It took us a bit to get the dogs underneath all out.  We had a pretty sad experience this week. Our first counselor in the Makhanda branch called us Wednesday morning and asked us to come give a blessing to his newborn at the hospital. As we were walking in with him he told us she had been born prematurely. She was born at 7 months and wasn't ...

Water Shedding

This week was transfer week. So, I was saying goodbye to all the people I've met in Illinge and Queenstown.  It was definitely hard leaving Illinge, but I'll be back to visit one day.  Yo, Monday night I woke up at like 1 am and was like "dang, I really gotta throw up." The whole night was spent throwing up. It was probably one of my worst nights. It turns out that I got food poisoning from some pesto chicken pasta. It did me so wrong. But, 2 days later I felt fine. Also, another Elder in my Queenstown district had to get surgery on his balls. They called it "Bilateral testicle exploration". I guess they all got twisted in his sleep. That's why you shouldn't be wearing tight pants, lol. Crazy it's the 2nd time it has happened to an Elder in my area..  We left for Port Elizabeth Friday night. Waited at the bus station for a few hours then left around 8pm. Elder Lindblom and I traveled together. We sat at the top of a double decker bus. It was kind...

Bye Illange

This past Saturday we got transfer news. I'll be leaving Illinge/Queenstown 1 and going to Makhanda/Port Alfred. I'm going to be training again lol. I'll be with Elder Killpack. I have never met the guy, but I'm sure he's a great guy. I'm actually finishing his training because he's already been on his mission for 1 transfer. Makhanda or it's also called Gramhstown and is what we call banishment, lol. We call it that because it's 2 hours away from any other Elders. It's just us 2, ha-ha. Also, we'll have water shedding there, which is just when the water cuts off for however long. So, I'll be taking some bucket showers, I'm sure lol. I'm up and excited for the challenge though. I know if I go with a good attitude I will enjoy my time there. I am excited for what our Father in Heaven has in store in Makhanda. My last Sunday in Illinge was sad. I've really come to love this place. Who would've guessed it'd be so hard to ...

Stuck In The Mud

Image
-This week was good. I titled the email the way I did because we got our car stuck in the mud, lol. Elder Rakotomamonjy was driving through Illinge the day after it rained pretty good. But basically, he went like 5 mph through the mud, so we got completely stuck. The Elder's quorum president from the ward had to come help us get out. It took forever to get out. The first attempt we used a rope, but it snapped, lol. So, President Mjiba went and got his tow truck and got us out. Which was super nice of him because without him we'd have been done for and never have gotten out, lol.  -Tuesday we played soccer with the young men at the chapel. Yo, those guys are smooth with it. But it's nice to get out and play. We then taught then their Seminary lesson which was actually super fun. -On Thursday we felt inspired to go visit a member family in Illange that we haven't visited yet. Even though we hadn't scheduled it, we felt we needed to be there. On the way there my phone ...
