God Is Good
-We got Transfer news this week. Elder Morin and I will be staying together for another transfer, and President told us to prepare the area for a "whitewash" next transfer (both will be transferred). So I have got one more transfer in Elsies river most likely. We're going to try and leave the area in the best condition possible.
-We met with Pastor Amos a couple times this week, he's awesome. He first found out about the church from a conference DVD he bought at a yard sell, lol. But he's been wanting to get a Book of Mormon ever since. We taught him both the restoration and the plan of salvation this past week. He seemed to love it. He kept saying how excited he was about having The Book of Mormon now. People from Malawi are always the nicest.
-Michelle passed her baptismal interview, so she will be getting baptized Sunday, which is super exciting. I did a baptismal interview for the Brakenfell Elders for our boy James, he got baptized this previous Sunday. I also received super exciting news that my friend Snethemba was baptized this past Sunday in Durban. She's a friend who Elder Killpack and I taught in Makanda and who went to Rhoads University. That made me so happy. She was such a beast; I knew she was going to be baptized.
-I went on some exchanges this week. One in particular these Elders scheduled a lesson which was 5.5 miles away, so we were walking and walking, lol.
I also went around giving cookies as Christmas gifts to our members. And we had the stake Christmas party, where Elder Morin and I had to sing in our branch choir. Our branch is great, but not at singing hahaha.
-Our zone went and paintballed for zone p-day. I'm a killa.
- I finished The Book of Mormon again this week. As I reflect on everything I've learned through this reading, one truth I've come to have a strong conviction of is the power The Book of Mormon can give us. There is power to resist temptation, to push through trials, to discern good and evil, to receive charity, to grow our faith, to grow our relationship with our Savior. I don't know where I'd be without The Book of Mormon. It has helped me learn and grow my understanding and relationship with the Savior and our Father in Heaven. It brings me more joy than any other material thing in this world. It gives me a sense of direction and purpose. The Book of Mormon helps you learn how to love others and yourself. It gives you a joy that is impossible to describe fully. But what comes most to my mind is charity, which is of course "the pure love of Christ". That is the power that comes from The Book of Mormon. I know The Book of Mormon is true, that Joseph Smith really did see God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ, that this is the Lord's only true and living kingdom on earth, and that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. I promise you can receive a testimony of these things and more if you only soften your heart, submit to the Lord's will, and trust Him. I testify of these things in the Saviors name, amen.
Read your scriptures, God is good :)
