I Was Santa
-This week was productive. We were able to find a lot of new friends from table contacting. One in particular, Amos, he's a pastor from Malawi. He came to our branch Christmas party and Sacrament meeting this past weekend. We'll be teaching him Tuesday. I have a good feeling about him.
-At the branch Christmas party, the branch made me dress up as Santa Clause and pass out presents to the kids. Which was actually fun. Until the kids started questioning me if I was really Santa Clause, hahaha. It's true, I don't look like Santa. lol
-A funny story we had from table contacting. A group of 10 or so kids came running past us on Voortrekker which is the main street we contact. They were running from a scary looking homeless guy. Who after chasing them for who knows how long came back to us and wanted a pamphlet, lol.
-Michelle will be interviewed for baptism this coming week, she's super excited which is always great to see. Brother Thomas's wife and kids came back from Zambia so we'll continue teaching them. We taught them through Brother Thomas because they're from the DRC and haven't learned English yet. So, we would speak to Brother Thomas then he would speak to them in French. Michael is continuing to take big steps towards baptism. He's keeping the Word of Wisdom, which is big stuff!!
-I've been studying The Book of Mormon from start to finish again for a while now. This past week I read Ether 12 again. Which is an amazing chapter. We learn a lot about how only through faith can miracles come about. Some of my favorite verses come from this chapter but one in particular stuck out a bit more this time.
Ether 12:18 "And neither at any time hath any wrought miracles until after their faith; wherefore they first believed in the Son of God."
I can testify from my own personal experiences that only after we show forth faith in the Lord will miracles come. Only then are we blessed with a witness. So, if we want to see our prayers answered, whether in the way we want or not. We must exercise our faith, trust in God, be patient & submit to His will. God wants to put miracles in all our lives, but He wants us to have faith first. I know by putting faith in the Lord He has worked miracles in my life both in and outside of missionary work. I know He listens and is waiting to work miracle in all our lives both big and small. God is good.
Love,
