The Kamva Miracle

-We were able to put Abigail on date for baptism this last week. She'll be baptized with her kids. It'll be cool to have their whole family be members now. Since the father, Brother Thomas has been a member since 2020. We also teach the family through brother Thomas because they only understand French. It is kind of interesting, but it is fun.

-Kamva is that guy. Last Sunday he didn't come to church, so we contacted him just to find out why and if he was doing okay. It turned out he spoke with his extended family. Mainly, all his uncles, grandpa's, etc., got mad at him saying if he wants to go to church again, he has to go to the family church. Kamva was pretty upset about it. He didn't know what he was supposed to do. Because on the one hand he wanted to make his family happy, but on the other he knows what he wants and what the Lord wants for him. But Thursday we felt like we should go see him and we ended up having a super long conversation with him about the whole situation. Luckily, brother Mananga was there too. Towards the end of our conversation Kamva felt a lot better and said he thinks he knows what he wants and what God wants for him. I remember our mission president's wife Sister Stringham had a similar experience she told me. So, we talked to her and ended up having her come share her experiences with Kamva. It was a super special lesson, and the spirit was really strong. Sister Stringham has an amazing story, she's an amazing example to me of faith and perseverance. Her story and the spirit that came with it really touched Kamva. By the end of the lesson, he said, "Yep I've made my decision". He's going to continue learning the gospel and coming to church. Which was a miracle honestly. I left a lot of detail out because it's sacred and personal to both Kamva and Sister Stringhams experiences, but for him to say that after what he had explained to us and told us what had been going on really was a miracle.

-Grateful for scriptures! Multiple times as we spoke with Kamva about his situation scripture stories, verses, or insights were coming to my mind. The spirit truly does bring everything to your remembrance in the exact moment it is most needed. Not always for your own sake but for the comfort and peace of another. I can testify that is true. I love the Savior! Recently I've been reading a lot about his life. Especially the crucifixion. A verse that always hits me right in the heart is Mark 15:37,
"And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost."
How incredibly thankful I am for the Atonement of our Savior. His willingness to endure the weight of all sin, pain, sickness, affliction, etc. This He did because of His love for us and our Father in Heaven. Yoke yourselves with Him. This life is a whole lot better when you're not pushing alone, let the Savior push with you and He'll be there every step of the way. Enabling you to overcome, achieve, and endure what would otherwise be impossible on our own.
