This week we had zone conference on Tuesday. It was powerful, President Stringham is definitely inspired. I'll probably be getting a new companion next transfer which is sad because I love being with Elder Rober. We've been able to work hard together plus we get along really well. But we'll see what happens Friday.
-We found a guy who thought we were satanic, that was interesting, but we were able to explain what we believed and share our testimonies with him. Whether or not he comes to church at least he understands it's the Church of Jesus Christ now. Interesting to me how someone can see something so clearly lead and inspired by God and think it to be evil.
-We put our guy Washington on baptismal date!
-The funeral services finished this week. It was interesting being at a Xhosa funeral. They really like to spontaneously burst out into singing and yelling, lol. Definitely entertaining.
-We've been having 20 or more friends that we are teaching come to church the last 5 weeks. It is really cool to see the Lord's hand blessing these people. It's not anything we're doing of course, but it's the Lord preparing His people to make those sacred covenants with Him. Now we gotta just get them into the waters of baptism lol.
-I have been studying Romans recently and there are a many lessons Paul teaches that I've seen, experienced, or learned on my mission. I've have really been blessed with such a strong testimony and conversion to the scriptures, especially The Book of Mormon, over the course of my mission. To me the scriptures are a source of truth, peace, love, knowledge, comfort, forgiveness, faith, etc. Most importantly a place where I've been able to grow my relationship and knowledge of the Savior, His atonement, and unwavering love for me.
Romans 5:3-4 "3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope"
Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
Romans 2:28-29 "28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: 29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God"
Romans 8:38-39 "38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord"
