-The last 2 weeks have been really busy. We have put some of our friends on baptismal date. Working to help them reach that goal in April.
-We did some exchanges with the East London-2 Elders and went up to King William's Town. It was fun going up to King and seeing those Elders that I've been friends with for a long time.
-We did some yard work for some members cleaning out their gutters. It was actually really satisfying, not gonna lie, I kinda miss doing yard work.
-Our buddy Andile unfortunately is going to have his baptism moved back until further notice due to an issue that came up in his interview. So that was really unfortunate, but he is still really excited and progressing forward.
-So, it turns out our friend Siya is actually a Sangoma. Which is a traditional Zulu healer. Some of them are good and then some Sangoma's are not so good as they practice Voodoo. But with Siya, he's a good dude/Sangoma. However, every time we see him, he seems to become more Sangoma. It is like he upgrades or something for us, lol. He is wearing more of the Sangoma traditional clothing, jewelry, etc., more and more every time we see him. He is coming to church though and loves learning about the Lord. It is kinda interesting, so we'll see what the Lord has planned for Siyo.
-We have been visiting our boy Mivuyo, who lives out in the boonies. He's a beast. He's 15 and lives by himself, has his own house and makes money by winning races.
-We went to a Xhosa funeral. A member's father passed away. It's been these past 2 Sundays. It has been interesting to attend, a lot of words I don't understand, lol, and lots and lots of loud singing. The actual funeral is next Saturday though.
-We discovered a maggot civilization in the big trash cans outside our apartment. Absolutely disgusting! We also found out our apartment has a gecko problem, lol. We keep finding different geckos whenever we come home at night. Some big, some small. It's kinda fun, plus they eat the bugs.
-Went on a safari for p-day at Inkwenkwesi that was really cool. We got to get really close to the lions, it was super cool.
- President M. Russell Ballard said “Sometimes we are tempted to let our lives be governed more by convenience than by covenant. It is not always convenient to live gospel standards and stand up for truth and testify of the Restoration. It usually is not convenient to share the gospel with others. It isn’t always convenient to respond to a calling in the Church, especially one that stretches our abilities. Opportunities to serve others in meaningful ways, as we have covenanted to do, rarely come at convenient times. But there is no spiritual power in living by convenience. The power comes as we keep our covenants”
