Promptings Lead To Blessings!

-This week was transfers and I got my new comp: Elder Roberts. We had a couple busy days picking up and moving different Elders to their new areas. It's fun to see all the new missionaries coming into the zone. Especially the greenies! The new Elders always look so shook. It makes me remember what it was like to be a new missionary. But, funny story, as we left the airport with the new missionaries and we drove through the center of town, which is a sketchy place. This day it was even worse, one of the very first things these fresh, green as can be missionaries saw was a drunk, big, old mama going number 2 right by the road! Elder Roberts and I just told them, "Welcome to South Africa!" Hahaha.

-Our friend Onam. We've been teaching her and her family, and we taught them the restoration as a family. It went super well. Both Onams older brothers, Live and Zukanye, came to church the following day. They loved it and said that it was where they want to be. Super powerful. Onam is already doing missionary work. Praying that they'll be touched by the spirit and have a desire to be baptized. It would be special to have them baptized all together.

-Exciting news with my friend Kamva in Elsies River back in Cape Town. He received the Aaronic priesthood and has had the opportunity to pass the sacrament. It brings me so much joy to see him progress and reminds me of Ammon and the joy he described. Alma 19:14 "...he fell upon his knees, and began to pour out his soul in prayer and thanksgiving to God for what he had done for his brethren; and he was also overpowered with joy;..."

-I had some Amagwenya stuffed with kidney (it is a yeast bread dough that is stuffed and fried).  It was not bad. Better than a lot of other things I have eaten in South Africa. Honestly it was so dark when we were eating it, I couldn't really tell what it was, I thought it was just mince. Not bad, also not sure what animal the Kidney came from, hahaha.

-Elder Roberts and I got attacked by the biggest cockroach I've ever seen Saturday night. At first, I thought it was a mouse when I saw it run across the floor. We grabbed the Doom and used the rest of the can of bug spray on that thing. It was so nasty. Also Sunday a member gave us the service opportunity ... you could say to destroy a wasp nest. We got it and zero stings, so not too bad lol.

- Our friends on date are progressing well. It's cool to see them change and cool to see the effect members can have on them. Members move the work forward fast.

- We had the opportunity to give a blessing to Brother Malandela. He's been having a real hard few months. He's also recently become active again. He asked us for a blessing Sunday, but unfortunately due to circumstances we had to leave to pick up the new missionaries before the ward fireside was over. But Monday morning we had the sudden realization and prompting that we had forgotten to give him a blessing. So, we went there that morning and we were able to give him one. And man, I won't go into so much detail because it was a special and sacred experience for Brother Malandela and ourselves. However, I will say I know the power of the priesthood is real. That a priesthood blessing is powerful and real. It's God's power, and it's been given to us so we can bless His children. The Lord knows His sons and daughters. He uses others through what it seems to be small prompting to bring needed blessing to specific individuals. So, I invite you all to give heed to those small promptings in your lives.

2 Cor 10:18 "For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth."
