New Mission President

Image
- Friday, we had our first Zone Conference with President and Sister Stringham. They're awesome, I love them. Super intelligent and spiritual leaders. And, also, super fun. You can just feel the spirit when speaking with them. Sister Stringham is awesome, it's nice to have a mission mom who's active with us Elders. In my interview with her we talked for like 45 mins or so. She has a really warm personality and makes you feel really comfortable, she's so easy to talk to. She has that loving mom spirit if that makes sense. It's hard to describe, but there are only a few people I've felt that kind of spirit around, it made me miss my mom. The day before Zone Conference we went on a hike along the coast all together which was fun.  - Okuhle and Lathitha were confirmed on Sunday, that was super powerful. We taught some great lessons this week. We've been trying to complete all the recent convert lessons as well as trying to find new friends to teach, especially p...

Answered Prayers

Image
Yo, this week flew by. Recently we have been really praying and trying to find good potential Priesthood holders. The last few weeks we haven't had much success. But this week was different, our prayers were finally answered. We found our guy Esona in Queenstown. He's super prepared for the gospel. We had a first lesson with him and he came to church this week, and even attended the face to face with the stake president after church. He absolutely loved it. So, pray for Esona.  Also, we had a referral, his name Is Yanga. We met with him outside the church and talked for a bit. He's golden, bro told us he just really wants to come closer to Jesus Christ and wants to repent of his sins. It turns out he lives in another Elders' area in our district. So that was a bummer. But they said when they had their first lesson with Yanga be brought 6 more friends with him. So that was super cool. A good lesson to learn here is that the Lord blesses those who show faith in Him and wo...

"I Stand All Amazed"

-This week was great. We had the baptisms of Okuhle and Lathitha. It was really special. They were super excited! The water again was absolutely freezing, ha-ha.  Luckily I didn't have to get in, Elder Rakotomamonjy got in which was hilarious cause bro hates the cold, LOL. The baptisms went well though. -We had a 4th of July braii with our district. We made some dogs, it was great. The only problem was we pulled up to the other elders' apartment to find that they had gotten robbed. Some guys came in the window and took quite a bit: clothes, food, kitchen knives, etc. So that was sketch. They even took one of the elder's towel and pooped on it outside. So that was actually super funny, ha-ha-ha, but also not. -On Wednesday we got 3 dinner appointments: back to back to back. Yo, I have never eaten so much chicken and rice in my life! It's always good though, the mamas here are really good cooks. It was funny because a lot of these mamas don't speak very good English, ...

1 Year On Mission

Image
All - Crazy stuff on Sunday I hit one full year as a missionary. Can't believe it's already been a whole year. It's been the fastest and slowest year of my life. So many challenges, experiences, memories, and blessings. I'm grateful for each one. And how they have shaped me into who our Father in Heaven wants me to be. As I look back to who I was last year I've noticed a lot of change. Good change for sure. I feel my priorities are much more aligned with God's will for me. I have a greater understanding of His plan. My spiritual sensitivity has grown. I know what is most important in this life. I feel a greater love for all around me as I try to see them as Christ does. I've seen the spirit change and soften people's hearts, as they humble themselves before God. My testimony has grown in so many ways. In the divinity of The Book of Mormon, in the prophet Joseph Smith, the Restoration as a whole, our Father's purpose and plan for us, how much God and ...
