Qha!

Image
-"Qha" my favorite word in Xhosa, meaning "that's all" or "done". This is my last email, crazy. I start the long way home tomorrow morning. Honestly it doesn't feel real. I'm waiting for someone to say, "jk you're not going home". It's been feeling more real everyday though. As I think about these last few months and even weeks here in Mdantsane, my heart Is full of gratitude for the miracles we witnessed. Nothing can replace what these last few weeks have meant to me. -Before I share a testimony I wanted to share some highlights of this past week. On Tuesday we put our friend Nonkoliso and her daughter Inathi on date for baptism, June 30th! Sad I won't be here to see it, but I'm so happy for their decision to make that sacred covenant with our Father. They are such a strong and humble family. It's incredible to hear them bear their testimonies of the restored gospel. Truly they are made for the gospel! We played s...

Trio

Image
- We had transfers this week. We picked up our new comp Elder Kennedy. So now we're in a trio for my last week. It's been good so far and I'm excited, Elder Kennedy and I are buds. The rest of the transfer day was just spent driving around Elders from one area to their new area, which is always fun lol.  -  This last Sunday, one of our recent converts Andile Magwaca received the priesthood! We went over to his home and helped him practice and prepare to bless the sacrament on Sunday. When Sunday came around, Andile did so good! So powerful to see him take part in such a sacred ordinance.  - On Thursday we had exchanges. Elder Manganye came and joined me. We had such a powerful lesson with Nonkoliso and her daughter Inathi. We taught them all about baptism and the Gift of the Holy Ghost. I asked them to pray about of baptism and to see if it is what God wants them to do at this time in their lives. As I was talking, our member's brother said "Elders can I say someth...

Here's a quick update.  -Our new friend Nonkoliso is so powerful. We are teaching her and her kids. They are really so prepared for the gospel. She told us how she's really hasn't ever been a church person but when she came she described to us the difference she felt. Told us she felt something she has never felt before. God is blessing us with the prepared, I'm confident she and her kids will be baptized very soon!  -In our finding and teaching this week we have really been focusing on how we can improve our desire. To show God we are ready to teach the prepared. As we have exercised this desire by following the small promptings we've been able to find so many elect people. God grants to those with the greatest desire, which is something Elder Aidukaitis taught us. It works!  - All 5 of our recently baptized friends were confirmed this past Sunday. It was special to get to be apart of each one!  - We got transfer news I will be staying here in Mdantsane 1st for my ...

Lots Of Baptisms!

Image
-This week was really powerful! We saw so many miracles in our area and zone. We had 5 baptisms this past Sunday! Onam, Live, Zukhanye, Unathi, and Andile all got baptized on Sunday. Also, Thando was confirmed as well. God Is good! -We started the week by having an MLC with Elder Aidukaitis in Cape Town on Monday and Tuesday.  He was really fired up on us to increase our finding efforts. Something he said that stuck with me was: "Why would it happen to you if your desire is 0?". Elder Roberts and I took that back with us to our area this week and man have we been blessed because of just our desire to find those who are prepared. So many new friends to teach this coming week! On Friday we had a mission tour with Elder and Sister Aidukaitis. Which again was powerful. Elder Aidukaitis gave us a really great way to find and connect with family and friends. He taught us to find through those who are being baptized. To sit down with each of them with a pad and pen and write down al...

Baptized ASAP

Image
-The last 2 weeks have been busy but fun! This past Sunday our friend Thando was baptized! He's a funny guy, idk how to explain him. But he has really been changed by the gospel from when we first started teaching him during my first week here in Mdantsane. When he just walked into church until now, there is a huge difference in him. It's amazing to see the Atonement work in the lives of our friends.  -2 little miracle we saw this week was with our friends Andile and Unathi. Andile has been waiting and waiting to get baptized. Finally, this week he was interviewed by a member of the mission presidency and he was approved. He was beaming and wanted to get baptized as soon as possible. So next Sunday will be his baptism! With Unathi she had been wrestling with baptism for a while. We invited her again to really pray about when is the right time for her to get baptized and to get back to us on Sunday. So, on Sunday she came up to us and asked if she could be baptized that day! Unf...
