Attacked By Hornets

Image
Hey guys, this week was pretty good.  Students should start to come back in the next week so I'm excited for that. The reason I titled it "Attacked by hornets" was because I got attacked by hornets, lol. We were out tracking the other day. We were knocking gates instead of doors because everyone has a gate, even the poorer communities. But this particular gate wasn't very loud because of the paint that was on it. So, I decided to use the mailbox that was right next to the gate and right as I did like 50 hornets come flying out at me. It's safe to say I can still move fast, lol.         -This week was pretty eventful. We got a random call from our friend John who we had on date to be baptized for a little while who then fell off. He called us and told us he is gay, which I already knew that by just being his friend. But it was cool because he said with this struggle, he's decided to come closer to God instead of pushing away. And he also told us he thinks he...

Stellies Heating Up

Image
Yo, I don't have a lot of time to write so this one will be short.     This week was actually a great week. Things in Stellenbosch have been heating up literally and with the work. It's been so hot and it's not even the hottest month, lol. But this week we had a good amount of lessons, not the amount I’m wanting to have, but we're getting there. Students are starting to come back which will be really nice when they're all back because that's who the age group we're focused on finding right now. Our friend Z finally came back after holidays, so we'll be able to meet with her soon, which I’m really excited about.     We had some great lessons this week. But 2 in particular were really powerful.  -Rosetta, an older lady we have been teaching for a while now. We have taught her the first 2 lessons a few times trying to get her to understand fully. This last time we showed her a video of the first vision and she had a powerful spiritual experience. We asked h...

Another One

Hey guys this week was good. Was more productive than last week.     We taught a couple powerful lessons. One was with our friend Rosetta she's an old lady who lives alone. She is really sweet and loves having us over. We have taught her both the restoration and the plan of salvation. We really have to explain things to her because it takes her a minute to understand. Our last lesson we went over the plan of salvation again. This time a little slower. It was really cool to see her start to understand and to have her ask us genuine questions. Only problem is getting her to church because she has no car and it's a 30 min drive. But I have faith she could get there somehow.    Also, probably the highlight of the week was about 2 weeks ago we gave a blessing to a young lady who's sick and we came and checked up on her this week. Her Father told us how much better she is doing and that she's starting to act like herself again. That was really a cool experience for me. Tha...

Monkey Town

-Yo, this week was long lol. We got transfer news this week and my President told me that I'll be staying in Stellenbosch for one more transfer. Which honestly, I'm not too excited about. Just because I've been here the entire time. Which is 6 months and by the end of my last transfer here it'll be 7 1/2 months Which is crazy. But the Lord needs me where he needs me even if I don't want what He wants. But I'm going to honestly try and make the most of this last transfer In Stellenbosch because he told me he'll be sending me somewhere the opposite of Stellenbosch work wise.       -The best part of this week was on P-day.  We went to a place called Monkey Town and it was so awesome. We got to walk around and look at all different kinds of monkeys and primates. We also got to hold a yellow boa constrictor, which was awesome. The best part was getting to feed the little monkeys and having them jump all over us. Yo, that made...

Balled Too Hard

Yo - I hope you all had a good new year’s. Crazy it's already 2023 and that this week I hit 6 months.   The biggest thing that happened this week was Elder Howard broke his hand playing basketball. Thursday our friend that we've been teaching invited us to come play basketball with him and his friends. So, we pulled up and all was going well. Until I went up to get a rebound. When I came back down Elder Howard tried to poke the ball out as I went back up to put it In. And somehow, he got his hand stuck in my arm and it got like twisted or something. Anyways we heard a gross snap and his hand started to swell up.  That night we took him to the hospital we were there until 11 at night, it took forever. And then on Saturday we took him in to get surgery because he completely broke it, wasn't just a fracture. So, the days since I've just been helping him recover.   As far as missionary work goes, we had a great lesson with our friends Averil and his wife Margaret. A...
